Today I sat through some training at work. After the training, Lorna and I chatted with the trainer Marcy. We were discussing with her finding women role models in her field or work. She said most of her role models were men, it was because they were accessible to her at work. But she did say that her positive female role models started with her family.
Lorna and I found we shared the same sentiment. All three of us had a strong female role models as we were growing up that gave us the confidence and courage to continue along in our career paths.
As parents we may not realize the impact we have on our children’s lives, but rest assured you do. I just hope that I have been a positive role model for my daughter and have surrounded her with strong people who can influence her life.
