Graduation…if I had only known!


I’ve been feeling very introspective lately, which is really just a fancy way of saying I’ve been thinking about myself a lot. The truth is, as someone very bluntly pointed out, I spend so much time worrying about everything else that I do not see the harm it causes myself, ultimately making things worse. This was a very effective way to make me start thinking about me.

All of this introspection is coming at a time of year where so many are experiencing the growth and change that comes with graduation. Whether it’s high school or college, it’s happening all around me. As my incoming students have birthdays that post date my high school graduation and as I quickly approach my 20th high school reunion (next year), I started thinking about what I would want to tell my high school graduate self.
