“I’m just a mom.” This is what one of the competitor’s on a new reality television show where people do physical challenges kept saying. “I can’t believe I’m doing this, I’m just a mom.”
Screw that. I’m a mom too and I’m not just a mom, I’m strong as a mother.
After my daughter was born I started surfing and learned to ride a motorcycle. And I think that makes me strong as a mother.
I am one of many “just a mom” types who are out there doing amazing things. My friends Kelly and Trish as well as my aunt Susan run half marathons. My friend Erin hikes, bikes, and surfs. And then there are the elite “just a moms” who win Olympic medals and hold world records for winning races.
Moms can “just be a mom” or they can choose to be strong as a mother.
