The issue of policing in America is not someone else’s problem, it is a problem that belongs to all of us.
This needs to be important because using a choke hold, no knock warrants, and other policing techniques can be used on anyone, not just black and brown people. You might not be breaking any law but look like the wrong person, live in the wrong house, or acting not quite right according to an officer.
This is important because there is little to no recourse for justice in the event that you were incorrectly targeted because the current legislation and union contracts in most states prevent it.
Being white does not protect someone from militaristic style policing.
